COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ACTION COMMITTEE

The Comprehensive Plan Committee collaborated with the Town of Johnsburg Community Development Corporation (TOJ CDC), the Lake Champlain Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB), and Warren County to update the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. Adopted in 2025, this plan serves as a guiding framework for the Town Board’s decisions on a wide range of topics over the next decade.

The Comprehensive Plan Action Committee now focuses on turning that vision into action by advancing specific goals in the Plan through strategic planning with local, regional, and state partners. The Committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 3:30 pm in the upstairs meeting room at the Tannery Pond Center. All meetings are open to the public. Meeting notes available by emailing Committee Chair or at the following Town Board meeting.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING COMMITTEE

In partnership with the Towns of Chestertown and Horicon, the Economic Development & Marketing Committee secured $140,000 in Warren County Occupancy Tax funding to support a tri-town marketing initiative. During 2024–2025, the Committee focused on completing Phase I of this effort, which was finalized in December 2025 in collaboration with Trampoline Design. Phase I will be formally rolled out through presentations to the Johnsburg, Chestertown, and Horicon Town Boards beginning in January 2026. The establishment of branding across the area now moves us forward with planning of signs for the gateways of the Town of Johnsburg and each of its hamlets. This committee will pursue marketing initiatives that align with the adopted Comprehensive Plan, continue to coordinate efforts with the Comprehensive Action Plan Committee and build on the new branding. Our Economic Development focus will be to identify beneficial resources of support for residents and businesses, retain services and attract new businesses that will benefit all. The Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2:30pm at the Tannery Pond Center. All meetings are open to the public and meeting reports are available by request to the committee chair.
