Formerly known as The Odd Fellows Hall, the Wevertown Community Center was built next to the Pearsall Realty site, near the crossroads in Wevertown in 1913. It was moved to its present site in July 1931, making way for Route 8 from Wevertown to Wells.  When the Odd Fellows disbanded, the building was purchased by the town and renamed the Wevertown Community Center.  Town Justice office is located just inside on the main floor.

The downstairs portion of the Community Center, with its large kitchen, is available on a reservation basis for wedding, dinners, and other events.

Johnsburg’s Ski Bowl Park, one of the earliest ski centers in the eastern United States, has evolved into a major multi-use area offering a wide range of events and outdoor recreation opportunities.

During the winter months, the park is operated by New York’s Olympic Regional Development Authority. It features two ski lifts, one of which connects directly to Gore Mountain. The lift areas are fully lit for night skiing, and in addition to downhill skiing, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and a half-pipe on the Village Slope for snowboarding enthusiasts.

In the summer, control of the park shifts back to Johnsburg, and it becomes the venue for several recurring events, including Waynestock and the Town’s Independence Day celebration. The park also hosts weddings, parties, dinners, and other private events. It serves as the summer home for Johnsburg’s Youth Program and offers a variety of recreational features, such as two ball fields, tennis courts, a tot lot, and hiking and biking trails. Additionally, the park has a separate outdoor pavilion by the beach, available for event reservations. A beautiful flower garden greets visitors at the park’s entrance, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

The 224-acre Mill Creek Recreation Area, also known as Dunkley Falls, is located south of Riparius and is dedicated to open space recreation. This area features the “Black Hole,” a unique geological formation, along with the scenic falls on Mill Creek. Historically, it has been a popular spot for swimming and enjoying the natural beauty of the surroundings. In 2017, the land was donated to the Town of Johnsburg by the Open Space Institute. Day use only.

Riverfront Park, also known as the Kellogg/Waddell property, was donated to the Town of Johnsburg in 2010 by the Open Space Institute. This historic site features two enclosed buildings, two new open pavilions, and expansive lawns, all bordered by the Hudson River and the Saratoga North Creek Railroad. It’s a charming location for local events and is available for reservations for weddings, graduations, and other celebrations.

Riverfront Park is also the seasonal home of the North Creek Farmers Market, Adirondack Glassblowing Studios, and the Music by the River summer concert series. Nearby, you’ll find the Depot Museum and Revolution Rail.
